Description
Number 23 is an attached house located on Cumberland Street in Bristol, dating from around 1770 and restored around 1980. It is built of brick with limestone ashlar, features party wall stacks, and has a pantile roof. The house has a double-depth plan and is designed in a mid-Georgian style. It stands three storeys tall and has a two-window range. The exterior includes rusticated quoin strips leading to a coped parapet. The right-hand doorway features a semicircular arch with a key and imposts, topped with a cornice, and contains a six-panel door. There is a canted timber bay with pilaster jambs and a cornice, and the windows have segmental-arched heads with five stepped voussoirs, holding 6/6-pane sashes. The interior has been completely rebuilt. Additionally, there are attached steel spear-headed front area railings.
