Description

This is a house, built around 1770, and now used as offices. It is located on Cumberland Street in Bristol. The house is constructed of brick with limestone ashlar detailing, and has brick stacks. It follows a double-depth plan and is in a mid-Georgian style, with rusticated pilasters and a moulded coping to the parapet. The right-hand side features a pedimented doorcase supported by Doric columns. The ground floor has a canted bay with 6/6-pane sashes. The first floor has a Venetian window to the left, while the remaining windows have cambered arches with five stepped voussoirs above 6/6-pane sashes. The interior was extensively restored around 1980, which resulted in the loss of many original features. Spear-headed railings are present to the steps and area in front of the building.
