Description
No. 26 Cumberland Street is a house built around 1770. It is constructed of brick with limestone dressings and features brick stacks, although the roof is not visible. The building has a double-depth plan and consists of two storeys, a basement, and an attic, with a symmetrical mid-Georgian front that includes rusticated pilasters and moulded coping at the parapet. The entrance is highlighted by a pedimented doorcase supported by brackets, and there are Venetian windows with interlacing heads along with 6/6-pane sash windows. The 19th-century style shop fronts have 15 panes. The interior was not inspected but is noted to have been completely modernised around 1990.
