Description
Numbers 13 to 19 and attached front area railings form a terrace of four houses, now offices, originally dating back to circa 1770 and rebuilt circa 1980. The buildings are constructed of brick with limestone dressings, brick party wall stacks, and a pantile roof. They have a double-depth plan and are designed in a mid-Georgian style. Each house is three storeys high with a two-window frontage. Rusticated quoin strips are present on the moulded parapet coping. Number 13 features a semicircular-arched doorway with a plate-glass fanlight and a six-panel door. Facsimile 19th-century shop fronts are present, featuring moulded jambs and consoles to the fascias, and large-paned windows. Venetian windows are located on the left-hand side of numbers 13 and 19, with the others featuring them on the right-hand side. These windows have sill blocks and interlacing heads, with segmental heads consisting of five stepped voussoirs to the six-over-six-pane sashes. The interior contains no original features. Associated with the buildings are spear-headed railings to the steps and area. The buildings were completely rebuilt to the original design and, together with neighbouring listed buildings, form a fairly complete late 18th-century street.
