Description

This is a house dating from around 1770, located on Cumberland Street in Bristol. It is a double-depth plan building constructed of brick with limestone detailing, featuring brick stacks and a hidden roof. The house is two storeys high with a basement and attic, and has a two-window front. The facade is in a mid-Georgian style, incorporating rusticated pilasters and moulded coping to the parapet. A semicircular arched doorcase was restored on the left-hand side around 1980. The windows have cambered heads with five stepped voussoirs, housing six-pane sash windows. A restored 19th-century shop front, complete with scrolled consoles and a dentil cornice, is present, along with a 15-pane window. The interior was completely modernised around 1990 and has not been inspected.
