Description

Number 29 is an attached house located on Cumberland Street in Bristol, dating from around 1770 but rebuilt around 1980. The building is constructed of brick with limestone ashlar, featuring party wall stacks and a pantile roof. It has a double-depth plan and is designed in the mid-Georgian style. The house stands three storeys tall and has a four-window range. Notable architectural details include rusticated quoin strips leading to a moulded coped parapet, with the left-hand two-window section set forward. This section features a facsimile 19th-century shop front with panelled jambs, fascia consoles, and a central doorway. The first- and second-floor windows have segmental-arched heads with five stepped voussoirs and 6/6-pane sashes. The right-hand section includes a full-width elliptical-arched carriage archway. The interior has been completely rebuilt. Additionally, there are attached steel spear-headed front area railings.
