Description
Number 22 is a house located on Clifton Road in Bristol, dating from around 1780. It features a rendered exterior with limestone dressings, lateral stacks, and a pantile hipped roof. This late Georgian style building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall, with an attic and basement, presenting a five-window range.
The symmetrical front of the house includes a moulded coping and a splayed left-hand corner with a ground-floor oval window. To the right, there is a parapeted two-storey extension with three windows. The main entrance boasts a raised semicircular-arched doorway, which is topped with a bracketed pediment and features a five-pane fanlight above a six-panel door. The windows include 6/6-pane sashes, with 3/6-pane sashes on the second floor and a 3/3-pane middle sash. The extension has three ground-floor windows, with the left window being a 3/3-pane sash and two larger 6/6-pane sashes on the first floor.
Additionally, there are attached wrought-iron railings leading to the curved entrance steps. The interior has not been inspected.
