Description
The wall, gate piers, and gates of the former Church of St Andrew, which is now demolished, were built between 1819 and 1822 by James Foster. They are constructed from squared coursed Carboniferous limestone, with cast- and wrought-iron railings and gates. The gate features rendered octagonal piers topped with pointed caps, leading to an iron gateway adorned with spear-headed railings. This includes piers supporting an ogee overthrow and lamp, along with double gates and flanking pedestrian gates. The graveyard wall extends approximately 70 meters to the east and north, topped with a moulded coping.
