Description
Belle Vue Villa is a detached house, likely originally two houses, dating from around 1790. It has been extended in the early and mid-19th century, with some 20th-century additions. The house is set on a slope, positioned high and back from Camden Road, and is approached by a footpath between it and Belgrave Lodge.
The building features painted limestone rubble, render, and ashlar, topped with double pitched roofs covered in double Roman tiles. It has a double depth plan with a 20th-century rear extension. The front elevation is two storeys high, while the rear is one storey, and it has a four-window range. The house is constructed in three sections, with the left block having a higher double pitched roof, the centre block, and the right block featuring a lean-to roof.
The exterior includes plate glass sash windows, a coped parapet, and a returned cornice. On the first floor, there is a Venetian window with panelled internal shutters on the left, flanked by three narrower plain windows in the centre and right. The ground floor has similar windows, with a 20th-century door in the centre. The left return, made of rubblestone, has no windows, while the right return features two windows on the first floor and a single storey block below. The interior has not been inspected.
