Description

The Hare and Hounds Public House, located at No 81 on Portland Road, dates from before 1814 and stands three storeys tall. The top floor features a single sash window with glazing bars, while the middle floor has a casement window. The ground floor showcases a Victorian pub front, which includes pairs of pilasters on either side of the doors and moulded brackets at the ends, along with a central window above a panel. A sash dormer with glazing bars is present above. The building is constructed of painted cobbles, with brick quoins, window surrounds, and a modillion eaves cornice. Nos 75 to 89 (odd) form a group with this property.
