Description
The Old Grammar School House, located at No 109 on Welsh Row, is a late 18th-century building constructed of red brick. It stands three storeys high and features three restored sash windows with stone sills, keyblocks, and plain lintels. The ground floor includes two canted bay windows with glazing bars and flat roofs. At the center of the building is a moulded wood pilaster doorcase topped with an open pediment and a semi-circular fanlight that has segmental glazing bars. The chimney stacks have been rebuilt, and the roof is tiled. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 83, 85, 89, the stables at the rear of No 89, Nos 91, 97 to 101 (odd), the Methodist Chapel, and Nos 103 to 109 (odd).
