Description

This is a red brick Methodist chapel dating from 1840. It is two storeys high and has three sash windows with plain lintels and leaded lights. A stone band runs around the building, and the doorway has a large semi-circular head, a fanlight, and a pair of wide nine-panelled doors. A pediment sits above the doorway, displaying a stone tablet inscribed “Primitive Methodist Chapel” and the date. The chapel forms a group with numbers 83, 85, 89, the stables at the rear of number 89, 91, 97 to 101 (odd), and numbers 103 to 109 (odd).
