Description
Watts Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building features a timber frame that is exposed on the left-hand return front, with brick infill. The lower part is clad in whitewashed brick, while the upper section is tile hung, some of which is arranged in a fishscale pattern. The roof is plain tiled and half-hipped, with a gablet at the right end. The cottage has two storeys and a cross ridge stack located to the right of the centre. There are four leaded casement windows on the first floor and four windows below. A 20th-century timber and brick porch is situated on the left, featuring a glazed 20th-century door. On the left-hand return front, there is tension bracing on the first floor and a queen-post roof truss. The rear of the cottage has an exposed frame with whitewashed brick infilling, bracing on the first floor, and a pentice extension across the centre.
