GUILDFORD QUARRY STREET SU 99 49SE (West Side) No. 28A 8/224 (Old River Cottage) 1/5/53 II

House. C16 with later C16/C17 alterations. Timber framed on whitewashed rendered plinth with whitewashed brick infilling; plain tiled roof, half-hipped and with gablet to left end. Two storeys and attic in gabled dormer, tall proportions, and stack to left of centre. Upper frame raised to right of stack and across the rear. Three framed bays with irregular casement fenestration. One window to first floor left, two windows on ground floor right. Two further windows to left, either side of a ribbed door. Right hand return front:- Queen post roof truss and end joists of attic floor exposed single-storey C20 brick extension to end. Rear:- Regular framing with wide gabled porch to centre.
