Description

This building comprises two houses, now offices, with a history spanning the 17th and 18th centuries. The rear section dates to the 17th century, while the front facade is from the 18th century. The front is colourwashed brick and features a plain tiled, half-hipped roof, a mansard roof to the right end, and a lower hipped roof to the rear. The building is two storeys and has attics. A central rendered stack rises above the building, and there’s a brick dentil eaves cornice at the base of a stone-coped parapet. Two flat-roofed dormers have sash windows on the left side, with one casement dormer on the right. The two floors each have two 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows, the gauged-brick heads of which are now painted over. A panelled and studded door is located on the right side, sheltered by a pediment supported on scrolled brackets and set within a moulded pilaster-strip surround. A similar door, but in a plain surround, is situated at the left end.
