Description

Cripplegate Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with 19th-century additions. It has a timber frame set on a rendered plinth, with brick infill on the right and whitewashed render on the left. The roof is plain tiled, half-hipped to the right, featuring an end stack on the right and a large ridge stack to the left of centre. The building has two storeys, with two framed bays on the right that include curved bracing. There is a flat-roofed projecting bay on the left and a gable-fronted cross wing at the left end. The first floor has three casement windows, while the ground floor features leaded windows, with paired windows in the cross wing. A planked door is located in a porch recess on the left side of the projecting bay, just left of centre.
