Description
April Cottage, part of Cross Lanes Farmhouse, is a house that has been divided. It dates from the 16th century and features a timber frame set on a rendered plinth, with rendered brick cladding. The roof is plain tiled, with a large ridge stack located left of center and an end stack on the right. The building has a central range with cross wings at either end and stands two storeys high. There are three casement windows on the first floor and a bow window on the ground floor to the right. A six-panel door is situated in a gabled porch to the right of center. The left-hand return front displays exposed framing with whitewashed brick infill.
