Description
Dods is a cottage dating from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame with thin scantling, which is exposed over a whitewashed brick ground floor on the street side. The upper part has whitewashed brick infill, while the right-hand return front is made of whitewashed rubble with brick angle quoins. The roof is plain tiled and half-hipped, with tile hung ends. The building has a T-shaped plan, with the cross of the T positioned at right angles to the street. There is an oversailing gable at the center of the right-hand return front and a central stack on the rear wing. The cottage is two storeys high and has one diamond-pane leaded casement window on each floor of the half-hipped end. On the right-hand return front, there is one first-floor and two ground-floor diamond-pane casement windows. Additionally, there is a porch recess to the left of center on the street front, angled with the front range.
