Description
The Old Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It features a timber frame that is exposed, with whitewashed brick and render infill. The street-facing end and the 19th-century extension to the right are finished with whitewashed roughcast. The roof is plain tiled, with a half-hip and a gablet to the left. The building has a three-bay lobby-entry plan that is positioned at right angles to the street. It stands two storeys high and has stacks with corbelled tops located to the left of centre. The first floor displays diagonal arch-bracing, while there are two windows on the first floor and two three-light windows below. The entrance door is now located to the right of centre. There is a gable end parallel range to the front right, which has one three-light window on each floor and a stack at the rear where the two ranges meet.
