Description
Keepers Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage located on Epsom Road in Merrow. It is constructed of red brick with grey headers in a Flemish bond pattern, sitting on a brick plinth. The roof is made of old clay peg tiles and features a chimney stack on the left side and an external chimney stack at the rear. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys.
The front facade includes two windows, with a central window that has been blocked. The windows have rubbed brick arches and 20th-century casements set in original quoins. There is a central door case with a wooden architrave, a four-panelled door, and a 20th-century gabled porch. The left side elevation features a curved tile-hung gable, a casement window, and a six-panelled door. The rear elevation has a gable adorned with curved tiles.
In front of the cottage, there is a red brick garden wall with stone coping, cast iron spear rails, and four brick piers topped with stone coping. Inside, notable features include an open fireplace, a central spine beam, and plank doors.
