Description

Evergreen Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with 19th-century extensions located on the east side of Merrow Street in Guildford. The building features a timber frame that is clad in whitewashed roughcast on a smooth plinth at the ground floor, with tile hanging above. It has a steeply pitched, half-hipped gambrel roof and stands two storeys tall with parallel ranges and end stacks. The cottage includes two three-light windows on both the first and ground floors, and a central panelled door that is framed by an architrave surround, topped with a shallow gabled hood supported by brackets. There is a single-storey 20th-century extension set back to the left, which is not considered of special interest.
