Description
Hurst Hill is a house dating from the early 16th century, which was extended in the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is clad in whitewashed brick at the bottom and tile hung above. The roof is plain tiled and half-hipped on the left side, with rendered infill on the gable end. The house has two storeys and includes a stack on the left side of the entrance front. The frame is exposed, showing tension bracing on the first floor. There are two diamond-pane, leaded casement windows on the first floor and two additional windows on the ground floor. A door is located to the left under the stack, and there are boarded extensions at the left end. Facing the lane, the front has three diamond-pane windows on the first floor and two windows below, with a brick string course above the ground floor and a glazed door to the right of centre. Inside, there are good ceiling frames with stop chamfers, a deep brick fireplace, and an oak spiral stair.
