Description
Hookwood Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with 19th and 20th century extensions. The building features galleted ironstone rubble at the base, with brown brick above and tile hanging on the left side. It has plain tiled roofs, which are lower over the extensions, and a large end stack at the junction of the roofs. The cottage is two storeys high and has two casement windows on the first floor to the right, along with two 20th century casements in the extension to the left. A central gabled brick porch with a ribbed 20th century door is present, and there are further extensions at the rear. Inside, the cottage has heavy ceiling framing and a deep brick fireplace that includes a bread oven.
