Description
Well Cottage and Ridings Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century and is now divided into two separate residences. The building features a timber frame that is clad in sandstone, with 19th century extensions at one end made of whitewashed brick and topped with plain tiled roofs.
The front of the building has two storeys, while the right-hand side has one storey and an attic, which includes three dormers with pentice roofs. On the ground floor, there are four casement windows, and a partially glazed door is set in a porch with a pentice roof at the center. At the rear, there is a corbelled double stack chimney positioned left of center. Each floor of the gable end of Well Cottage has one casement window. The street-facing side features two windows on each floor, with one additional central window between the floors, and there is a door located in a brick porch on the left-hand return front.
