Description

The Peaslake War Memorial is a stone cross that tapers and has an octagonal shape, standing on a tall octagonal plinth with three octagonal steps as its base. The front of the memorial features a wreath and a sword of sacrifice.

Inscribed on the front are the words: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF PEASLAKE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 THEY DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE," followed by the names of seventeen men who died during the First World War. An additional inscription on the rear honors twelve individuals who lost their lives in the Second World War, from 1939 to 1945.
