Description
Oak Hill is a house that represents the remains of a larger structure, originally built in the 16th century and extended to the rear in the early 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is exposed above, with sandstone blocks on the ground floor and whitewashed brick infill above. It has a plain tiled roof that is hipped with a gablet at the left end. The house is two storeys high and consists of three framed bays, with an inserted stack on the left side.
On the first floor, there are three casement windows, while the ground floor has two casements. In the center, there is a half-glazed door leading into a 20th-century gabled timber framed porch that sits on stone plinth walls. There is an additional door on the right-hand return front and double-glazed casement doors on the left-hand return front. Evidence indicates that this house was once a Hall House, though the end bays are now missing.
