Description
No. 117 is a house that has been converted into a shop with accommodation above. It dates from the 17th century and features a timber frame covered in painted plaster and wood, topped with a plain tiled hipped roof that faces the street. The building stands three storeys high and has a projecting square bay on the first and second floors, which is rusticated above. There is a bold cornice with modillions at the eaves and chimney stacks on the left side. The second floor has two replacement glazing-bar sash windows in open sash boxes, while the first floor has two windows set in Doric pilaster surrounds with cornices above. The ground floor features a 19th-century shop front with fluted and panelled end piers topped with spherical finials.
