Description

No. 18 Wheelgate is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century and has some alterations from the 20th century. The building is painted and rendered, featuring a timber eaves cornice, and has brick stacks at each end of its pantile roof. It is two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window front. The shop front is double, with a part-glazed door situated between canted plate-glass windows. On the left end, there is a two-panel door that has a blocked overlight above it. The first-floor windows are single-pane sashes with keyblocks. The building also has a modillion eaves cornice and two gabled dormers in the attic, which contain two-light casement windows.
