Description
Nos 109 and 111 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the early 19th century with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of yellow stock brick and features slate roofs. It stands three storeys tall with attics, showcasing deep eaves and stacks located at the rear.
The façade consists of three bays, with a central pediment that includes an oval lunette window in the tympanum, framed by a gauged brick head. The attic floor has three glazing bar sash windows, each set under gauged brick heads. On the second floor, there are three 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows. The first floor features three casement doors arranged in a round-arched arcade, which is complemented by a balcony that spans the front of the building, supported by a coved structure. The balcony railings are designed with an intersecting roundel pattern, adorned with floral bosses and a lattice pattern band across the lower section. Below, there are recessed shop fronts, while the 20th-century shops at the rear are not included in the listing.
