Description
No. 105 on High Street is a house that has been converted into part of a shop. It dates from the 18th century and has had some alterations made in the 20th century, particularly on the ground floor. The front is finished in stucco and features slate roofs that are hidden by a parapet. The building stands three storeys tall and has rusticated angle quoins, a plat band above the first floor, and fluted-bracket eaves at the base of the panelled parapet, which has square end newels. There are stacks located at the rear.
On the second floor, there are two 4-pane glazing-bar sash windows with margin lights on either side, set in architrave surrounds that rest on the plat band below. The first floor features a shallow half-oval glazing-bar sash bow window, with each window consisting of 12 panes and a modillion course above it. The ground floor has a coved and recessed shop front. Note that the 20th-century extensions at the rear are not included in this description.
