Description
No. 103 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century, particularly on the ground floor. The building is timber framed and features colourwashed render cladding with a plain tiled roof that is obscured by a parapet. It stands three storeys tall and has a deep eaves cornice with volute scroll modillions.
The façade has one bay facing the street and includes a rear stack. There is a wooden square bay window that projects from the first and second floors, which contains two 9-pane sash windows on the second floor. The bay window is decorated with floral and fruit garlands at the ends and has a rusticated design across the bottom. On the first floor, there are two 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows, framed by panelled pilasters at the centre and ends, supported by scrolled brackets below. The ground floor features a 20th-century plate glass shop front with central doors.
