Description
No. 2 Church Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 17th century but has been re-faced in the 19th century. The building features a timber frame with square panels and painted brick nogging, while the front is finished with later painted brick and has a tile roof. It consists of one framed bay and has two storeys plus an attic. Notable architectural details include a dentil brick eaves cornice, a 20th-century flat-topped dormer with a two-light casement window, and end stacks. On the first floor, there are two glazing bar sash windows. The ground floor has a 20th-century plate glass shop window on the left with a shop door to its right, alongside a segmental-headed six-panelled door to the right, which has the top two panels glazed. The timber frame is exposed at the rear of the building.
