Description
Peers Cottage and Pebblestone Cottage are semi-detached cottages located on Tackley Medcroft Road. Peers Cottage dates from 1654, while Pebblestone Cottage is from 1766, with some alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottages are built of coursed squared limestone and feature a 20th-century cement tile roof, which has a coped gable parapet on the left side. There are 19th-century brick ridge and end stacks. Each cottage has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a two-window range. The entrances are located in a mid-20th-century addition at the rear. The ground floor windows are three-light casements, while the first floor has central two-light casements, both featuring glazing bars. The ground floor windows have stone flat arches, and the first-floor windows have wooden lintels. Peers Cottage, on the right, has only one ground-floor window. Pebblestone Cottage displays datestones inscribed with "1654 TB" and "IJ 1766." The interiors have not been inspected.
