Description

This is an 18th-century cottage located on Medcroft Road, Tackley. The building is constructed from limestone rubble with a thatched roof and brick end stacks. It follows a two-unit plan. The cottage is one storey high with an attic, and has a two-window front. A large, central 20th-century rendered porch, featuring a slate roof and a glazed door with small windows, has been added. The ground floor windows are early 20th-century two-light casements set within stone flat arches. Dormer windows have two-light casements with glazing bars and run-out stop-chamfered wood lintels. A small one-storey range to the left has a stone slate hipped roof. A late 20th-century one-storey addition on the right is not of particular architectural interest. The interior remains uninspected. The cottage is included on the list primarily for its group value.
