Description
The Gardiner Arms is a public house built in the 18th century, with an early 19th-century wing. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof, along with a 20th-century brick stack on the left end and a largely renewed ridge stack. The building has a three-unit plan that extends to an L-shape, with the wing located at the rear right, facing the road. It stands two storeys tall and has a two-window range, with its front oriented at right angles to the road. There are two 20th-century half-glazed doors and timber open porches from the 19th and 20th centuries. The windows throughout are three-light casements with glazing bars, and the three ground-floor windows have stone flat arches with keystones. The wing includes 19th and 20th-century casements and features a brick ridge stack. Inside, the building has chamfered beams.
