Description
St Benets, also known as Prospect View, is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble with timber lintels and features a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a two-window range. To the right, there is a 19th-century half-glazed door that is topped with a hood featuring a moulded cornice supported by consoles. To the left, there is a tri-pane window with large-paned sashes beneath a long timber lintel. On the first floor, there are two sash windows with margin lights that flank an earlier blocked window. The central half-dormer has similar sashes with horns. A gable-end chimney, which was rebuilt in the 20th century, is located to the left. The interior has not been inspected. The house is included in the register for its group value.
