Description

Prospect House is a late 18th-century house situated in Kilmersdon. The front elevation is constructed of ashlar, with returns of coursed and squared rubble, featuring alternating rusticated quoins, a first-floor band, a cornice band, and a parapet with coping. The roof is tiled, with end stacks finished in ashlar and featuring moulded caps.

The house is symmetrical, with three storeys and three bays. It has sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded architraves; the ground-floor windows are paired, with a central stone mullion. The central door opening has a semi-circular head, pilasters, an emphasised key, and an open stone pediment supported by brackets. The door itself is six-panelled, and includes a fanlight with radiating glazing bars.

A railed forecourt is retained by a wall constructed of coursed and squared rubble.
