Description

Prospect House is an early 19th-century house, originally of brick but now rendered and colourwashed. It has a pantiled roof with cogged eaves, an eaves band, concrete-coped gables, and two gable stacks. Stone sills and keystones are present. The house is two storeys high with garrets, and has a three-bay, L-shaped plan. A central 19th-century brick porch has a moulded stone hood, containing a 19th-century half-glazed door with a stained-glass overlight. It is flanked by single, plain sash windows, with three similar sashes above. The right-hand gable has two 20th-century casement windows. A flat-roofed rear extension was added in the 20th century. A brick boundary wall with stone coping, which is ramped, runs alongside the property, containing two square brick piers and an iron gate dating to the 19th century.
