Description

North Beeches and South Beeches is a house built around 1790, with a later 19th-century extension on the right. The building is constructed of stucco and features a hipped slate roof. It has a first-floor band, deep moulded eaves, two ridge stacks, and is two storeys high with six bays in an L shape. The main front has a central stone pilastered doorcase with a frieze and moulded hood, a plain overlight, and a six-panelled door. This is flanked by two 19th-century canted stucco bay windows with slate roofs, each containing three plain sashes. Above these, there are three glazing bar sashes with stucco architraves. The extension to the right has a central French window, with two glazing bar sashes above.

On the south front, to the right, there is a deeply moulded architrave with a 19th-century half-glazed door, flanked by single plain sashes. To the left, there is another similar doorway covered by a 20th-century timber conservatory. Above this, there is a blank panel over the right-hand door and four glazing bar sashes. The north front features two glazing bar sashes on each floor.

Inside, the central hallway has a modillioned cornice and a strapwork ceiling, along with a curved open well staircase that has turned balusters and a scrolled handrail, leading to a matching balustraded landing. The front room to the right includes a 19th-century Classical fireplace, a moulded cornice, and a strapwork plaster ceiling. The room to the left has a moulded cornice and a 19th-century marble fireplace with scroll brackets. The front room in the 19th-century extension to the right features a moulded cornice and an ornate three-panelled coffered ceiling.
