Description
The Homestead is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with a later wing added in the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a pantile roof, with cogged and dentillated eaves, and tumbled brick coped gables. The building has a single ridge and two gable stacks, with the southern stack being external. It is two and a half storeys tall and has a three-bay main section, with a two-storey, two-bay wing projecting to the south.
The main south-facing front has a plain timber door frame on the right, which contains a six-panelled door with a glazing bar overlight, and above this is a plaque from the County Fire Insurance Company. To the left of the door, there is a single glazing bar sash window, and above it are two more glazing bar sashes. Higher up, there are two smaller glazing bar sashes, with all openings featuring segmental heads. The west wall of the later wing on the right has two glazing bar sashes with segmental heads, and above these are two additional glazing bar sashes.
On the rear north front, there is a 20th-century reeded, pedimented doorcase on the left, and to the right are two glazing bar sashes with segmental heads. Above these, there is one similar sash on each floor.
