Description
1 High Street is a house from the late 18th century, with an extension that was converted into a separate house in the 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and has a pantiled roof, with a rendered plinth, stone sills and lintels. It features first floor and eaves bands, cogged and dentillated eaves, tumbled coped gables, a single off-centre ridge, and a single gable stack. The house is two and a half storeys tall and has four bays.
The right side, known as Smith's House, has a central 19th-century part-glazed door in a plain frame with an overlight, flanked by two plain sash windows, one of which has a segmental head. Above this, there are three glazing bar sashes, and above again, a central blank panel with a rubbed brick head flanked by two smaller glazing bar sashes. The adjoining house on the left has a 20th-century door, with a single plain sash window with a segmental head to the right. Above this, there is a single glazing bar sash, and above again, a single smaller glazing bar sash.
