Description

Prospect House, including its front garden walls, dates from the early to mid-19th century. The house is stuccoed and has a scantle slate roof, with projecting eaves supported by moulded brackets. It features a hipped end on the left and a semi-conical end on the right, with brick chimneys positioned over a cross wall to the left and over the axial wall at the rear of the front right-hand room. The plan is double-depth and L-shaped, with 20th-century additions. The building has an irregular, five-window front, with rusticated stucco quoins on the left and a rounded corner on the right. The right-hand section has a symmetrical three-window facade featuring a central original six-panel door. Most windows are original 16-pane hornless sashes, though there are replacements on the ground floor right and on the two-window section to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
