Description
Queen's Own is a house located on Church Lane in Charlbury, dating from the early 18th century and raised to three storeys in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, features wood sash windows, and has a pitched tile roof with brick stacks. The building has a three-storey range with two window bays facing the street and end stacks, along with a two-storey range that runs perpendicular to the rear. The entrance is located at the side or rear.
The west elevation facing the street displays a symmetrical arrangement of two windows on each of the three storeys, with the second-floor windows extended into dormers. The stone facade is adorned with vertically arranged stone lintels and larger blocks at the corners that function as quoins. A stone square on the facade is carved with "D I A 1707". The interior has not been inspected. This early 18th-century house, raised in the 19th century, features a fine three-storey stone facade and is situated in the centre of Charlbury, adjacent to the Grade II listed St. Mary's Church.
