Description
Millwood Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 17th century and remodelled in the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with graded stone slate roofs and has brick chimneys. The building has a two-unit plan with a two-storey range at right angles to the rear. The front features a three-window range over two storeys and an attic. There is a central part-glazed door beneath a 19th-century patterned tile lean-to porch, flanked by three-light casements with stone cills, all under flat stone arches with raised keyblocks. The roof has three gabled dormers at the eaves. There are end stacks and one ridge stack located to the right of centre. To the right, there is a single-storey lean-to addition with a brick chimney that has a 'flying' flue leading to the end stack of the front range. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
