Description

Weir Cottage is a former millhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from 1732, as indicated by the datestone marked W.I.M.A. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with stone end stacks that were rebuilt in the 20th century. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, displaying a two-window range. The windows and the door, which is from the 20th century, are topped with flat stone arches. There are also two gabled roof dormers and a bread oven projection on the left side of the building. A 20th-century rear wing has been added. The interior has not been inspected.
