Description
Horns Close is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with a range to the right that was remodeled in the mid-18th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring a stone-slate roof on the left side and a 20th-century tile roof on the right. It has stone and brick ridge stacks and a T-shaped plan. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The right side has 20th-century casements with timber lintels, while the left cross-wing features 19th-century two-light casements. There is a door at the centre, set within a 20th-century porch. A further 19th-century plank loft door is located on the first floor of the gabled end of the cross-wing, accessible by stone and brick steps. Inside, the right range is noted for its large chamfered beams and joists with ogee stops, while the cross-wing on the left also has chamfered beams.
