Description
Barn Court is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed and uncoursed limestone rubble, featuring wooden lintels and some squared dressings, topped with a plain-tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The building has an L-plan layout and consists of two storeys plus an attic.
The front elevation includes a projecting wing on the extreme left, which has casement windows and a renewed parapet gable. The main range, which is four windows wide and made of coursed rubble with large squared quoins, has a lean-to porch from the 20th century at the angle. To the right of the porch, there are regularly spaced casements with 2, 3, and 2 lights. The right gable retains the remains of a gable parapet with a decorative apex stone. A large brick stack is located in the centre of the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
