Description
29 Baldon Row is a house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, which was re-modelled in the 18th century. It features timber framing with brick infill and colourwashed brick, topped with a thatch roof and brick ridge stacks. The house has a three-unit plan and is one storey plus an attic. The irregular brick front, which faces the garden, includes a plank door located to the right of centre and three 3-light casement windows, all with segmental arches. There are also 3-light dormers on the left and centre of the roof, which has linked stacks positioned to the left of centre. The left gable wall and part of the rear wall still show the original timber framing. A further 3-light dormer is located at the rear, and there is a single-storey brick and tiled extension from the 20th century that extends towards the road. Inside, there is a large internal stack with an open fireplace, stop-chamfered beams, and a clasped-purlin roof with straight wind braces.
