Description

Medmarsh Cottage is a late 17th-century house located in Long Hanborough. The front of the house is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a gabled stone slate roof and a stone ridge stack. The original plan comprised two units. It is a single-storey building with an attic, featuring a two-window front. The front features a timber lintel over a 20th-century door with a porch to the left. There is a 19th-century four-light casement window and a late 17th-century two-light casement, both with leaded panes. Gabled half-dormers are present, each containing a two-light casement. Later 18th and early 19th-century two-storey ranges extend to the rear right, with stone slate and Welsh slate roofs. The interior of the front range was noted to have stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and an open fireplace, though it has not been inspected recently.
