Description
Rectory Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which was remodelled in 1808. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features gabled roofs made of stone slate and concrete tiles on the right side. The building has stone end and ridge stacks, along with a moulded ashlar end stack on the left. The layout is U-shaped with rear wings and it stands two storeys high, presenting a three-window range.
There is a segmental stone arch over a 20th-century door that is topped with a gabled hood. The main range has hood moulds over two- and three-light chamfered windows, with the eaves raised in the early 19th century. The right cross-wing also features similar windows. The side walls have comparable mullioned windows. At the rear, there is a left wing built in the late 18th or early 19th century, made from similar materials. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have chamfered beams.
